The intensive training program of Alkademi through UMPTN Farcapital became a pivotal moment in my career journey as a Software Engineer. Starting with selection in October 2022, this program took me away from home to Bandung for a three-month on-site bootcamp.

The early phase consisted of self-learning and online mentoring to align basic technical foundations. But the real acceleration happened when all participants gathered in Bandung to forge their technical skills intensively.

Three Months of Technical Acceleration

From November 2022 to January 2023, we underwent a learning process oriented toward real industry practice. 25 participants from diverse backgrounds were forged in a highly dynamic environment.

The first two months focused on mastering web development fundamentals up to applying TALL Stack (Tailwind CSS, Alpine.js, Laravel, and Livewire). At this stage, the main focus was not just making features work, but understanding clean code, well-organized architecture, and the performance optimization of modern web applications.

DOJO Project Execution: OCR System

Entering the third month (January 2023), all the material was tested through a final project called DOJO. I was entrusted to join the OCR Team to develop an automatic text-extraction solution from document images.

The main challenges of this project were extraction accuracy and integrating a responsive backend workflow. A solid team collaboration and mentor guidance were the keys to completing this project on time.

Reflections & the Impact of the Journey

The experience in Bandung was not merely about writing lines of code — it was about shaping a problem-solving mindset, teamwork under deadline pressure, and building a solid professional network.

This vocational collaboration initiative was also widely covered in the news, showing a strong commitment to advancing local technology talent. More coverage of the program can be accessed via Far Capital’s coverage.

This experience laid a solid foundation that carried me to my next technical and product leadership roles.
